Reunion Giving

Reunion giving provides a strong foundation for the Duke Law Annual Fund and has become a long-standing tradition at Duke Law School. Reunion gifts, made through the Reunion Class Gift effort, provide vital funds to support student scholarships, retain and attract outstanding faculty, sustain a world-class law library, and develop innovative academic programs.

Alumni are encouraged to participate on reunion committees and to support their Class Gift effort. Many alumni choose to make 5-year pledges in honor of the reunion. These pledges allow the Law School to count on your sustained support.

A common 5-year pledge made to the Reunion Class Gift effort is a $12,500 Barrister level pledge. For this reunion cycle, the pledge would be as follows:

Fiscal year: To be paid between: Amount:
FY08 July 1, 2007 - June 30, 2008 $2,500
FY09 July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009 $2,500
FY10 July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010 $2,500
FY11 July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2011 $2,500
FY12 July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012 $2,500
  Total: $12,500

Another common pledge is the $5,000 multi-year pledge paid at $1,000 per year over a period of five years. This type of pledge qualifies donors for membership in the Law School's newest giving society, The Samuel F. Mordecai Fellows.

Alumni who do not wish to make these types of pledges are encouraged to participate at any level. Multi-year pledges can be entered in a variety of amounts and single-year gifts are gratefully accepted.
