Combating Terrorism Conference Reunion ’08 Registration The Role of the Lawyer in the War on Terrorism A Blueprint to Lead: Developing Lawyers Into Leaders Lawyers have a responsibility and unique opportunity to lead - not just in the legal profession, but in our communities, nation, and world. Hear Duke Law Dean David F. Levi and Professor James E. Coleman discuss the ideals and skills that make a lawyer a leader, the ways in which law schools can prepare students for leadership, and how Duke Law faculty, students and alumni have served as leaders in everything from the launch of the environmental law movement to efforts to achieve justice for the wrongfully convicted. Reunion ’08 Registration Continental Breakfast Duke Law Dicta Be one of the first participants in "Duke Law Dicta," a new oral history project that aims to capture stories about our unique Duke Law culture and history. Similar to NPR's "StoryCorps," the "Duke Law Dicta" project invites alums to interview each other in front of a camera about their favorite law school experiences. Possible topics include, but are certainly not limited to: funniest moment in class, how I met my spouse at Duke Law, the moment I realized I was a real lawyer, most important thing I learned in law school, or, in honor of Judge Everett's 50th year teaching at Duke Law, a favorite memory of Judge Everett. Look for the "Duke Law Dicta" signs at the Law School during Reunion Weekend -- we can't wait to hear your stories!
Duke Law alumni and professors will discuss the early Roberts Court from a variety of perspectives. Kenneth Starr L'73 and Duke Law Professors Ernie Young and Walter Dellinger will participate in a panel discussion moderated by Duke Law Associate Professor Neil Siegel. CLE credit available* The BALCO Scandal, the Mitchell Report, and the Future of Anti-Doping Efforts in Domestic and International Sport Climate Change and the Law Duke University President Richard H. Brodhead presents the annual State of the University Address. Building Tour Dean Levi will discuss his vision for the Law School and answer alumni questions during this informal session.

Children’s Dinner While the parents gather with classmates, children ages 4 to 14 are invited to a supervised dinner with kid-friendly entertainment. Post-Reception When class dinners are over, the reminiscing doesn’t have to stop. Gather at the Washington Duke Inn with other Law classes. Cash bar. Reunions Gala Join undergrad reunion alumni for dessert, drinks, and dancing following your class dinner. Fireworks end the evening. |
