Program in Public Law hosts post-election analysis with Democratic insider Ron Klain

Ron Klain, former chief of staff to Vice President Al Gore, will offer post-election analysis at Duke Law School on Friday, December 1. Sponsored by the Program in Public Law, the event begins at 12:15 p.m. in room 3041 at the Law School and is open to the public. A light lunch will be served on a first come first served basis.

Currently the executive vice president and general counsel of Revolution LLC, Klain was active in the 1992 and 1996 Clinton-Gore campaigns, as well as Gore’s presidential bid in 2000 and John Kerry’s 2004 campaign. Klain served as general counsel of Gore’s recount committee, after which he was named one of the “Lawyers of the Year” for 2000 by the National Law Journal.

As associate counsel to the president during the first Clinton term, Klain oversaw the president’s judicial nominations, including that of Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. In addition to serving as assistant to the president and chief of staff and counselor to Vice President Gore, Klain has served as chief counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee and as chief of staff and counselor to Attorney General Janet Reno.
