Class Profile

International Class of 2007-2008

The new international students for the 2007-2008 academic year hail from 39 countries, with 81 LLM students, 18 exchange students, and 5 entering SJD students. We are very pleased to have for the first time LLM students from Kenya and Nigeria. Consistent with enrollments in the last several years, the countries with the largest representation are Japan, Korea, China, and Germany. Forty-four percent of this year's LLM class is women, a significant increase over past classes. The majority of the students have worked for two or more years with large law firms, but there are also judges, prosecutors, academics, in-house lawyers, and public service interns. Almost one-third of the LLMs attended a Duke summer program in Geneva, Hong Kong, or the new pre-LLM program at the Law School.

Graduating LLM Class of 2007

The 75 LLM students who graduated in 2007 are headed to 19 different countries either to work or continue their education.
